350 Garden Challenge

GROW MORE, USE LESS

On May 14th and 15th, thousands of people across Sonoma County will rise to the challenge of creating a more sustainable community. Our goal is to create 1000 actions to grow food, conserve water and save energy on that weekend. We will build on the incredible success of 628 garden actions in 2010. This year, we have added the home energy component to make our impact even bigger! Some ideas to consider are: transform your lawn into a food garden, plant a row for the hungry, switch to drip irrigation, install a greywater system, rainwater catchment system, or water-conserving appliances, go drought-tolerant, make a commitment to line-dry your clothes for the summer, unplug energy zapping appliances, conduct an energy reduction challenge, or weatherize your home, apartment, office or neighborhood. The possibilities are endless, the time is now to make a difference. Include your family, friends, and neighbors in this challenge today!

This challenge is even going national via the Transition US network, so urge family and friends across the nation to sign up today at www.transitionus.org!
