Phillip Micheal Williams, PE, and LEED AP
His career focus has been in the California marketplace with extensive experience in the design, application, sales, installation and service of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, data and related systems. Most recently he served as the Chairman of the San Francisco Mayor's Task Force on Green Buildings which focused on recommendations for private sector green building requirements.

extensive experience in the design, application, sales, installation and
service of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, data and
related systems.

Most recently he served as the Chairman of the San Francisco Mayor's
Task Force on Green Buildings which focused on recommendations for
private sector green building requirements. These aggressive standards;
planned for implementation in 2008, cover virtually all private sector
commercial and residential building types with phased escalations to
enable industry implementation. In addition he serves on the Advisory
for the Business Council on Climate Change (BC3), the San Francisco
Building Code Advisory Committee (including Code Advisory Green Building
Subcommittee), Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the Center for
the Built Environment (CBE) and California’s Green Technologies Advisory
Board.

Sustainable projects of note include the California Academy of
Science (LEED Platinum), Letterman Digital Art Center (LEED Gold),
Symantec (LEED Gold), Century/Avenue of the Stars (LEED Silver), Grand
Ave (LEED Silver) and LA Live (LEED Certified). He received his
registration as a California Professional Mechanical Engineer in 1985
and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Currently, Phil is heading up
over 20 million square feet and over $5 billion of LEED Projects, which
ranked Webcor Builders as the #2 Green Contractor in the country by ENR
Magazine (2007 revenue).

Webcor Builders, based in San Mateo CA. with offices in San
Francisco, Hayward, Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Diego, was recognized
in 2006 and 2007 as the largest commercial builder in California and is
consistently ranked in the top 40 general contractors in the nation.

Kevin Surace

Kevin Surace
Mr. Surace, a noted speaker and writer on climate change and the built environment, is on a mission to significantly reduce the use of fossil fuels and their effect on the environment. As CEO of Serious Materials, Kevin leads the company in its mission to reduce energy usage and CO2 generation of the world's largest contributor, our buildings.

Mr. Surace, a noted speaker and writer on climate change and the
built environment, is on a mission to significantly reduce the use of
fossil fuels and their effect on the environment. As CEO of Serious
Materials, Kevin leads the company in its mission to reduce energy usage
and CO2 generation of the world's largest contributor, our buildings.
By developing new materials and processes that require little energy to
manufacture, and advanced products which dramatically improve the
insulation and comfort of homes and offices, a worst-case climate and
energy catastrophe can be avoided.

Before joining Serious Materials in 2002, Mr. Surace held executive
and technical positions with Perfect Commerce, General Magic, Air
Communications, National Semiconductor, and Seiko-Epson. He received his
degree in electrical engineering technology from Rochester Institute of
Technology where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees, and has
been awarded multiple patents. Mr. Surace also serves on the boards of
FreeLight, Array Converter, Zeta Communities, and Integrity Block;
chairs the Sunnyvale Mayoral Green Ribbon Committee; and co-chaired the
CCTO Building Materials contest.

Pic’s decade of experience in the environmental sector allows him to recognize emerging sustainability trends, research and evaluate needs in the marketplace, and implement innovative strategies to align the organization’s environmental principles with market potential. He assists clients in research and development of sustainability and environmental programs.

Pic’s decade of experience in the environmental sector allows him to
recognize emerging sustainability trends, research and evaluate needs in
the marketplace, and implement innovative strategies to align the
organization’s environmental principles with market potential. He
assists clients in research and development of sustainability and
environmental programs. Prior to joining Blu Skye, Pic worked at the
Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation leading research and development
efforts for the Environment team.

He was born and raised in New England and holds a B.A. from
Middlebury College in Vermont and an M.B.A in sustainable enterprise
from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He and his wife,
Heather, and their two beautiful daughters, Zelle and Kit live in San
Rafael, CA.

Maggie Winslow, Ph.D.

Maggie Winslow, Ph.D.
Maggie teaches economics courses at Presidio. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a PhD from the Energy & Resources Group at the University of California, Berkeley. A cum laude graduate of Williams College in Environmental Studies, she has worked for Environmental Defense, The Conservation Strategy Fund and, most recently, Redefining Progress where her research looked at the distributional impacts of energy use and energy policy. Her dissertation work examined the relationship between urban air pollution, economic growth and democracy.

Jeff Mendelsohn founded New Leaf Paper with the mission of driving a fundamental shift toward sustainability in the paper industry. His product innovation and positive vision for the industry are making an impact. Since it was founded in 1998, New Leaf Paper has driven real change in the marketplace. Jeff’s interest in socially responsible business transcends the goals of New Leaf Paper, and he actively works to support the growth of the socially responsible business community.

Jeff has extensive relationships with other green business leaders and actively participates in the evolution of the green business community through membership in Business for Social Responsibility, Social Venture Network, Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, and, most recently, as a founding signatory of B-Corporation.

Jeff studied international relations at Cornell University (Class of 1989). His research into international capital flows and the Latin American debt crisis led him to understand the power of business and the imperative to harness that power toward positive ends. He is the recipient of numerous awards from both mainstream and socially responsible business communities for his efforts. Jeff actively enjoys the natural world he works to protect, as a surfer, rock climber, and outdoors enthusiast.

Panama Bartholomy is the Deputy Director of the CEC’s Efficiency and Renewables Division. He has spent the last four years as an advisor for Chairmen Douglas and Pfannenstiel, where he led efforts on their behalf on the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, clean energy workforce development, land use, renewable energy, and green building for the Division of the State Architect where he started and then ran the Sustainable Schools program. He serves on the City of Sacramento Planning Commission and the County of Sacramento Environmental Commission, and is the president and board member of the Northern California Chapter of the United States Green Building Council.
