Jeffrey C. Edelheit’s professional work focuses on supporting companies and entrepreneurs in developing strategic operating/business plans that create a solid foundation from which to grow. He specializes in working with enterprises whose product and services are geared toward environmental sustainability and beyond. He is currently affiliated with Restorative Technologies, an innovative company with offices in the Sonoma Mountain Business Incubator that draws on solutions from nature to provide innovations for industry. The resulting products utilize natural processes to enhance soil, water, and air for the benefit of plants, animals and people.
Jeffrey has been an active member of various initiatives to create a safer and more meaningful community. He participated in developing the city of Sebastopol’s guidelines for eliminating the use of pesticides and herbicides and the “adopt-a-landscape” program. He also brought the community together to raise awareness and the necessary funds to implement the Laguna Park Trail System Plan, leading to the creation of miles of walking trails in the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed. What was once reduced to a local dumping site is now an integral part of Sebastopol’s park system and setting a standard being followed by the cities of Santa Rosa and Cotati.
He was one of the founding members of the RITES Project—Return Intentions Towards Environmental Sustainability. His current project is the new Sebastopol Skate Park-Community Garden, a skate park that will also provide community garden space, herb gardens and special water features highlighting natural landscaping and permaculture principles. It will also provide space for volunteering and learning.
Jeffrey’s work in planning and consulting has been recognized by Palo Alto Software, producers of Business Plan Pro, a leading expert in the field, and he serves on their panel of business experts. He has taught business development and is a guest lecturer at Sonoma State University’s School of Business. He has been recognized by the City of Sebastopol and Chamber for his environmental work.
